Introduction ============ .. |image1| replace:: image 1 .. _image1: ../../../_static/screenshots/groups-admin.png Besides the standard categories Simple Users, Business Users [BE]_, Students, Teachers [SE]_, it is possible to add more categories. .. note:: Only subcategories of Classes are supported currently. We will provide an example that is targeted to a school, however the functionality can be used to other groups as well. [SE1]_ Suppose we have 3 different Classes, A Class, B Class and C Class, each one having students of a particular school year. Each Class has about 100 students that are divided to class sections for their courses. Grouping students to class sections will allow us to find a student easier, for editing or removal. It will also allow us to select all students of a particular class section and do some action. For example we can select the students of a class section and send them a folder with an exam or a practise test (see :ref:`Send / Receive Files`). After they have finished it, we can select these students again and retrieve the folder with the finished exam. Another interesting feature is to setup a Joomla installation to all of them at once. To manage new user groups we do the following. From main menu we select **Users / Edit Groups** and then the group type we want to manage.
